HK-based equity management firm Sprout looks to raise first external funding this year

Hong Kong-based equity management platform Sprout, which helps startups in Asia to digitise and manage their Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), is raising its first external funding in 2022, executives of the firm told DealStreetAsia, as employee stock options among tech startups gain traction in the region.

Sprout was founded in 2019 by Andy Lee — who was Uber’s Asia-Pacific head of business and corporate development between 2015 and 2018 — and Tony Sun, who was previously with the game developer Yodo1.
