Taiwan's CTBC commits to invest $9.7m in five Japanese funds

CTBC Financial Holdings, one of the largest financial holdings in Taiwan, has committed to invest a total of $9.7 million in five Japanese private equity funds, according to its disclosures.

The filings showed that CTBC, through its Japanese subsidiary Tokyo Star Bank (TSB), committed to investing ¥500 million ($3.7 million) in Globis Fund VII, the latest PE vehicle managed by Tokyo-based Globis Capital Partners. The fund focuses on new technologies such as AI, IoT, and blockchain. The predecessor vehicle, Fund VI, raised ¥40 billion in 2019.
