US set to seize assets tied to scandal-hit Malaysian fund 1MDB

U.S. federal prosecutors are set to file civil lawsuits seeking to seize assets linked to scandal-hit Malaysian state fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday citing unnamed sources.

Authorities are expected to file lawsuits in the United States as soon as Wednesday morning the report said, adding the assets are expected to include properties and other assets purchased with money allegedly misappropriated from 1MDB.
