<a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Aarin+Capital+Partners" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Aarin Capital Partners</a>, a venture capital fund co-founded by former Infosys director TV Mohandas Pai, is focusing on exits this year, the company&#8217;s managing director told DEALSTREETASIA.
&#8220;We have made two exits recently including a med-tech company focusing on electronic health records and clinical workflow management solutions using AI and another is an on-demand household services provider,&#8221; Deepak Natraj said in a telephonic interaction without disclosing the name of the companies.
In July 2016, Aarin Capital had partially sold its stake in test preparation course provider <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Byju" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Byju’s</a> which is run by Bangalore-based Think and Learn Pvt Ltd. Aarin was the first external investor in the company which raised an undisclosed amount from China&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Tencent+Holdings+Ltd" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tencent Holdings Ltd</a> most recently.
Aarin Capital, the $150-million proprietary fund of TV Mohandas Pai and Manipal Group scion Ranjan Pai, manages stage-agnostic funds with the ability to support its investee companies from incubation to exit.
&#8220;Since January this year, the VC fund has invested in two companies including a follow-on investment in a broadcast and digital media company and a curated peer-to-peer lending fintech platform,&#8221; added Natraj.
Aarin Capital has backed over 40 companies so far in healthcare, education and technology, and its sweet spot is $1-3 million. Some of its significant investments include content portal Campus Diaries, hotel booking aap SavvyMob, enterprise marketing automation suite Wigzo, budget hotels chain FabHotels and many others.
Apart from direct investments, the firm also invests in funds. Till date, it has backed more than a dozen funds. Some of the funds in which Aarin invested include Exfinity Technology Fund I &amp; II, an early-stage deep technology fund; Zodius Capital I, Zodius Technology Fund II (2015) &amp; Zodius Technology Opportunities Fund; SAHA Fund; StartUp XSeed; IdeaSpring Capital; Tandem Capital; Unitus Seed Fund among others.
