Home care provider <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/portea" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Portea Medical</a>, which is run by Health Vista India Pvt Ltd, has raised Rs 25 crore ($3.6 million) venture debt from <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/alteria" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alteria Capital</a>.
&#8220;Venture debt is a great alternate source of capital for high growth businesses like Portea and we are excited to partner with Alteria,&#8221; said Portea CEO Meena Ganesh.
Late last year, Portea had raised $26 million in its Series C round led by mid-market PE firm Sabre Partners and MEMG CDC. The round had also seen participation from existing investors Accel Partners, Qualcomm Ventures, and International Finance Corporation (IFC).
Portea was founded in 2012 by Zachary Jones and Karan Aneja. It was sold to serial entrepreneurs Krishnan Ganesh and his wife Meena Ganesh in 2013 for an undisclosed amount in an all-equity deal.
The company operates across segments such as primary care, chronic disease management, elder care and post-operative care. Its services include physiotherapy, doctor consultations, new mother and baby care, specialty pharmacy, nutritional wellness, diabetic care, surgery discovery and teleconsultation.

Venture debt provider Alteria Capital is raising a Rs 800-crore fund with a greenshoe option of Rs 200 crore. The Mumbai-based investment firm had recently announced a second close after garnering Rs 625 crore in commitments. Alteria’s current portfolio includes Fingerlix, Toppr Technologies, Raw Pressery, Vogo Bikes, Dunzo, Vinculum, Mfine, Loadshare and Universal Sportsbiz Pvt Ltd.
